Samsung reshuffles top management to counter Chinese rivalsIn order to effectively counter Chinese rivals in India, Samsung has reshuffled its senior management for its mobile phone business.

Mohandeep Singh has been promoted to the post of senior VP for the mobile phone business; he will handle sales and retail marketing responsible for all major operations.

Asim Warsi has been brought back to the cell phone arm, and will now head the mobile business product marketing team.

Manu Sharma, earlier the VP of product marketing at Samsung's mobile business, will now head sales for North and East.

"Mohandeep Singh has de facto become the Indian chief for Samsung's mobile business, filling a role which was left vacant for almost three years since erstwhile chief Vineet Taneja exited. A Korean expat of course will continue to lead. Singh will be directly responsible for driving both revenue and marketing activities, while Warsi will focus on product planning, launch and activations,” an industry executive told ET.
