In 2015, a team of scientists and engineers with the Ocean Exploration Trust were exploring the seafloor in the gulf of Mexico when they came across a larger brine pool, which looks like underwater lake.
The team was so curious that it sent a vehicle into the pool's depths only to discover that it's deeper than they expected. In fact, they lowered a line 62 feet below its "surface" but never hit bottom.
The footage was initially taken live. You can watch more live video from the ocean floor here. And for live dive updates, follow the team's social media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
