In what could be called nothing but a miracle at the hands of the supreme power, an Indian solider has been pulled out alive after he was buried in the snow following the Siachen avalanche.

Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad was buried under 25 feet of snow for six days. Even as his situation remains critical, the rescue teams are trying hard to save his life.

Koppad belongs to the Dharwad District of Karnataka, and it’s unbelievable that his pulse was running even after he was buried in snow, at a temperature of -45 degrees, for six days.

"We are trying our best to evacuate him as soon as possible to RnR hospital," an official concerned told ET.

The avalanche that struck a post at 19000 feet in Northern Siachen was thought to have killed 10 soldiers of the Indian Army, out of which Koppad has been found alive, and four bodies have been pulled out from under the snow.
