It’s a great news for startups in India. Startups and SMEs can now expect that have registered with investment platform GREX will soon be rated by credit rating agency CARE. After all, CARE and GREX have entered into a partnership where in the credit rating agency will assess companies registered with the former.

A good rating will up a company’s valuation thus attracting larger number of investors. The tie-up will also benefit those India Inc leaders, who until now have shied away from investing start-ups due to risks involved.

"The grading/rating would be done keeping in mind the expectations of various market participants and nuances of the high growth companies in consideration" said DR Dogra, managing director and CEO of the credit rating agency. He further added, "We will see to it that we do rigorous due diligence and then only give a rating to a company."

It should be noted that there are close to 400 companies registered with GREX, of which 12 are expected to go live soon.
