At least six survivors were found among the wreckage of a plane crash that was carrying at least 81 people, according to officials cited by the BBC and The Independent.

The chartered flight included a squad from a top Brazilian football team Chapecoense. The plane crashed outside the Colombian city of Medellin.

The BBC cited an airport press release, saying that an electrical fault to the control tower was to blame for the crash.
