Teenage shooter in custody after 3 injured in shooting at South Carolina elementary school

Multiple people are injured after a shooting at an elementary school in South Carolina on Wednesday.

A teenage shooting suspect is currently in custody, according to the Anderson County Sheriff's office.

Two students and a female teacher were injured in the shooting. The students were airlifted to to Greenville Memorial Hospital, while the teacher was taken to AnMed Health Medical Center, an Anderson County Emergency Management official told local NBC affiliate WYFF News 4.

A dead body was found approximately 3 miles from the school, and is likely connected to the shooting, reports WYFF News 4.

Anderson County police, who are trained to deal with active shooter situations, responded to a call of a possible shooting at the Townsville Elementary School at around 1:30 pm on Wednesday.

The school has reportedly been cleared by police officers in full SWAT gear.

Parents of the children are being instructed to go to a nearby church to meet their children, where armed guards bussed the children to. Only 300 or so students attend the school, according to CBS news.

Officials do not believe there were other shooters.
