Terror Strikes: Iraq tops the List, Srinagar and Imphal at “extreme risk” The Indian cities located close to international borders are at higher risk of terror attacks, as per a recent finding. The list shows Iraq on the top with the capital state, Baghdad making it to the crest. Indian cities, Imphal (ranked 32) and Srinagar (ranked 49) are at ‘extreme risk’ of terror attacks. Indian national capital Delhi, however it is at a lower risk of any similar threats. It has ranked as low as 447.

As per the recent analysis of the terror risk to 1,300 commercial hubs and urban centers across the globe, populations and businesses in 113 Indian cities have been identified to be at risk; high, medium or low risk of facing terrorist attacks, says the TOI report.

A total of 64 cities around the world have been identified at "extreme" risk of terror attack, with the majority in the Middle East and Asia - and three in Europe with Belfast named as the most unsafe city.

The Charlie Hebdo shootings last year in Paris made it to the top 100 countries in the listing, mentioned the Verisk Maplecroft's new Global Alerts Dashboard (GAD).
