1. US cable TV companies' shares are getting crushed. There are nagging investor concerns over the impact of cord cutting.

2. Disney's Bob Iger said ESPN should be able to withstand changing viewing behaviors because it has the best package of sports rights. But not everybody was convinced by his arguments.

3. A 30-second ad spot for next year's Super Bowl has reached a record price of $5 million. That's up 11% on last year.

4. Facebook has taken the next step in making money from Messenger. Businesses can now exchange private messages with users.

5. Adidas acquired mobile fitness company Runtastic for $239 million. Runtastic says the app will stay as it is for the time-being.

6. Google reportedly isn't interested in acquiring Twitter. " Larry Page doesn't give a f--- about Twitter," according to Amir Efrati, a reporter at tech site The Information.

7. US TV networks are stuffing more and more ads into the commercial breaks. Bernstein senior analyst Todd Juenger said it is a "desperate" attempt to counter plummeting ratings.

8. Keurig's future depends on this one item. The Keurig Kold machine will be sold online this fall.

9. McDonald's has unveiled its restaurant of the future. A recently renovated store in New York City gives us a glimpse of McDonald's turnaround plans.

10. Facebook is taking on Periscope. It has launched its own live-streaming service just for celebrities.
