If you want to get a job at Google, consider going to school on the West Coast.

Google, which employs more than 57,000 full-timers around the world and is a perennial favorite on lists of the best places to work, recruits only top talent.

From a pool of between 2.5million and 3.5 million job applications annually, it hires about 4,000 new people each year.

Since landing a top job is typically influenced by which school you attend — considering networks, geography, and prestige are such powerful predictors in a job hunt— we decided to see which schools send the most alumni to Google using data from LinkedIn.

Unsurprisingly, more than one-third of the colleges are located in California, right down the road from Google's Silicon Valley headquarters.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this post relied on data from LinkedIn's University Finder tool that was discovered to be incomplete after posting. We've updated the article to reflect new data pulled by LinkedIn.
