A huge number of UK universities offer the chance to study in Europe for up to a year, letting students experience what it's like to live in a foreign city while they learn.

We've compiled a ranking of the best cities to take a semester abroad, based on the locations of the highest achieving universities in Europe according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings from 2015-16, excluding UK institutions.
