Toyota's Innova, a favorite among hotel-owners and taxi companies across the country will soon receive a long-due makeover. The new Innova Crysta MPV is expected to launch in May as the new avatar of the popular Innova. The beauty of this people-carrier is that it blends personal and commercial use seamlessly with its comfy seats, plush interiors and overall sensibility in design. Some dealers have already started accepting bookings. The official announcements are a few days away.
On the outside, the Innova Crysta will have a new front fascia with a huge hexagonal grille, with new LED projector head lamps and will run on 17 inch alloys.
On the interior, expect a plusher cabin with lots of practical storage space, a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information screen display, a push start/stop button, cruise control and cool leather upholstery.
Under the hood, the Innova Crysta is expected to get 2.4-litre and the 2.8-litre diesel engines with MT and AT respectively. The smaller diesel engine will offer 148 BHP and 243Nm of torque, and the 2,755cc engine will churn out 172 BHP and 360Nm of torque.

Safety has not been compromised too. The top-of-the-line Innova Crysta will get seven airbags and all other variants will get three airbags and ABS as standard.
Seems like Toyota has perfected perfection. However, the only sore is that the top-end is expected to cost well over Rs. 20 lakhs.
