We all know Virat Kohli as the cricketer India can bank on, when it comes to tough chases. And, recently, he has shown beyond doubt that he can be an able successor to Mahendra Singh Dhoni when it comes to leading the Indian cricket team.

But have you ever wondered what went behind making Virat Kohli the match winner that he is?

According to his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli loved gorging on kathi rolls, butter chicken and every kind of fast food available. But, today, all of these find no place in his diet as Kohli gave them up long back when he realised he needed to prioritise cricket and set a 'benchmark as a captain'.

Infact, so particular he is about his diet that he doesn't even drink packaged juice anymore. It's either fresh fruit juices or nothing. Carbs and binge days find no place in his routine.

Talking to News18, Sharma also heaped praises on Kohli's work ethics and fitness regime, and mostly importantly his dedication. He believes the kind of sacrifices Kohli has made at an young age and has ensured that he sticks to them is something that we cant do at our age.

"It takes a lot of devotion and focus to restructure your lifestyle to this extent. He has cut down on carbs and doesn’t even have rotis now. It is either grilled or boiled food for him. Even his coffee is without sugar and definitely no packaged juices for him," he said.
