To aid the start ups dealing in tech arena, Facebook has launched FBStart two years back. This programme assures mobile developers all over the world access to free tools and services that could help them grow their companies.

Of the $50 million in benefits the company distributed to to Asia Pacific start ups, $20 million went to mobile apps in India.

India has the largest Facebook international developer community of any other region in the world. More than 75 percent of top-grossing apps in India are integrated with Facebook.

FbStart provides year-round support from Facebook product experts, an exclusive community of global start ups, and up to $80,000 (more than Rs 50 lakhs) in free tools and services from premier partners. Any developer who has launched a working mobile app in the Apple or Google Play app stores is eligible to apply for FbStart.


In India, as the nomination process in on, Facebook has shortlisted quite some start ups as of now to invest.

Here we list out 6 start ups, who have already been selected eligible for FBStart.

Coutloot

Coutloot

CoutLoot, one of the India’s first end-to-end fashion re-commerce platforms has been selected for FbStart programmeThe curated marketplace that focuses on pre-loved fashion space has received access to $40,000 worth of credits and services from Facebook and various other platforms.

Under the programme, CoutLoot would also receive mentoring from Menlo Park-headquartered Facebook’s engineering teams and services from its partners like AWS, Annie, Dropbox, Adobe and MailChim. It will also get a chance to get access to the exclusive community of its developers and worldwide events. The program provides free access to more than 25 services including open source tools like React Native, FB Login and Account Kit and App Analytics.

Partiko

Partiko

New Delhi-based Partiko Event discovery app was founded in 2014 by IIT-Roorkee alumni Amanjot Malhotra who later collaborated with Gaurav Saini, ex-payTm engineer for technical expertise. Partiko allows users to personalize their feeds by tags and interests. Notably, the platform has also integrated other popular social platforms which allow the users to share their posts on other platforms which expands its reach.

Flicksup

Bengaluru-based Flicksup, a content discovery social network. Launched in April, Flicksup was founded by IIT Roorkee alumni Siddharth Maheshwari, Tarun Valecha and IIT Bombay alumnus Pawan Nagwani. Flicksup is a social network where users can follow their favourite movies and TV shows, write reviews, have discussions and create collections.

Healofy

 Healofy

Healofy, a Bengaluru based pregnancy and babycare app will receive $40,000 credits and free tools and services from Facebook and its more than 30 partners including Amazon, UserTesting, Dropbox, and MailChimp.

Options to direct communication with Facebook team will be also be there. The peer-to-peer platform is building an online community of moms, expectant parents, and doctors by letting them interact freely around the theme of pregnancy and parenting.

VideoVibe

VideoVibe

Founded in 2016 by R Ranjan Sahoo and Elisha Priyadarshini, Videovibe deals in Youtube analytics and video optimzation services & tools, and has launched its web platform in September this year. Videovibe compiles data from YouTube and uses the data to make statistical graphs and charts that track progress and growth.

Knudge.me

Knudge.me

Knudge.me is a science-based app that aims to make learning easy, interesting and effective through its notification-based micro-learning platform. It works on an algorithm developed using techniques like adaptive and spaced learning. It currently offers a number of English- and mathematical skill-development courses such as vocabulary sections, English idioms, phrasal verbs, common confusing words and maths tips and tricks.
