These are the only 3 apps Apple and Google both agreed were the best of 2015
At the end of every year, Apple and Google pour over their respective app stores and select their favorite apps to highlight in their own year-end collections.
These lists aren't just the apps with the most downloads. Instead they are handpicked by teams at each company, featuring a mixture of established apps that were influential that year and new apps that made a splash.
Though some of each list is made up of "exclusives," there are plenty of the apps that have both iOS and Android versions. But that doesn't mean that Apple and Google always agree on which of these apps are the best.
This year, the companies diverged from top to bottom. Apple put Periscope as its number one app and included Instagram, while Google left both those off the list entirely, but included Twitter.
In fact, there were only three apps that Google and Apple both agreed were some of the best in 2015. Here are those standouts that got the seal of approval from both giants:
