A nine-year-old Indian boy just became the first kid to make the live in-flight announcement during a Frankfurt-Mumbai Lufthansa flight.

India’s Yashas Dassani from Mumbai recently stepped into the shoes of Lufthansa’s airline cabin crew on flight LH 756 in the presence of more than 350 passengers. This came as a part of the opportunity for the winner of Lufthansa's ‘Your Announcement Contest’.

The online contest held earlier this year had received over 250 registrations from children aged between six to 10 years from nine countries. A jury of Lufthansa experts shortlisted 15 most imaginative onboard announcements from the videos received.

Yashas was on his way back from a trip through several European countries as he had also won flight tickets to a European Lufthansa destination of his choice for himself and his parents. Later, he visited Lufthansa's crew premises at Frankfurt airport where he received his own flight attendant uniform.

"A Lufthansa pilot explained him how the crew prepares a long-haul flight and invited him to have a closer look at a Boeing 747-400," the official statement reads.

Onboard flight LH 756, Yashas in his announcement welcomed the passengers traveling from Frankfurt to his hometown Mumbai. Shortly before landing, Yashas's voice was again heard in the cabin, saying goodbye to the guests.
