Virool is gifting one marketer a trip on Virgin Galactic.

Virool, a programmatic video advertising startup, has devised an ambitious stunt to gain attention during the annual Advertising Week New York: it is planning to send a marketer into space.

The company is asking creatives to send their video campaigns to its dedicated "Race To Space" website. The marketer judged to have entered the spot most likely to go "viral" will be handed a ticket to become one of the very first passengers to take a commercial spaceflight on board Virgin Galactic, the venture owned by British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson.

Virgin Galactic's six-passenger SpaceShipTwo is due to begin commercial suborbital space flights at the start of next year. Passengers will pay around $250,000 to see Earth against the backdrop of space and experience weightlessness. (It beats an agency planning meeting.)

Virool claims to be the fastest-growing video distribution platform for marketers. The San Francisco-based company has raised $6.6m in funding and has ran more than 60,000 video campaigns since it was founded in 2012.
