This is Hillary Clinton's very specific guide for how to throw the perfect house party
AP/Jacquelin Martin
It turns out that same spirit carries over to the official Clinton campaign's guide to throwing house parties.
As part of the former secretary of state's path to victory in 2016, Clinton's team has developed a multi-bullet-point, eight-page plan for her how her supporters can organize and pull off the perfect house party for her campaign, according to a documented obtained by The Sunlight Foundation.
The guide is comprehensive, starting with a primer on what a house party is - according to the Clinton campaign, parties are "gatherings of people, they can be friends, neighbors, people you know from work or anyone else you've chosen to invite" - and ending with customizable thank-you notes.
The Clinton campaign's guide is full of instructions, including tips of how many guests to invite and the best way to get people to come to your party.
Here are a few helpful points:
- "Be mindful of holidays, local events, and traditions like the Big Game, so you don't create a conflict for your attendees and you get great turnout."
- "Set a goal for how many people you want to attend your party. But remember, not everyone you invite will be able to attend. Invite about double the number of attendees you actually want to show up to be sure to hit your goal."
- "Introduce yourself"
- Charge your phone. Everyone will be calling you, plus you'll want to snap some photos, so make sure your battery is full.
- Enter your data. It is critical for you to send all the signups you gathered back to the campaign so we can follow up with you guests - and so you get credit for your great work. In fact, we'll have a special surprise for the host who registers the most guests, and it is not to be missed. ... This is the single most important thing you can do for the campaign and for Hillary.
