This might be the most gorgeous Google-powered smartwatch yet

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei just unveiled its first smartwatch, the Huawei Watch, and it looks like it may be one of the best-looking smartwatches to date. The watch is powered by Google's Android Wear operating system, and the company has yet to say how much it will cost or when it will launch.

The Huawei Watch looks more like a timepiece that a gadget, and Huawei said it worked with watchmakers on the gadget's design. The watch itself is made of more than 130 components and comes in gold, silver, and black.

It has a round screen like the Moto 360 and LG G Watch R. Huawei is also calling it the most "vibrant" Android Wear smartwatch since its screen has a high contrast ratio. The touchscreen works when you're wearing gloves also according to Huawei.

The company is positioning the watch as a fitness accessory, too, emphasizing that it comes with a built-in heart rate monitor, a motion sensor, and a barometer for detecting whether you're walking, running, biking, or sleeping. Like most fitness trackers and smartwatch, Huawei's new watch can measure your calories burned, heart rate, steps taken, distance traveled, and how high you climb.

We won't really know how comfortable and attractive the watch is until we see it in person, but based on Huawei's product images it seems like it could give the Moto 360 some real competition in terms of design.
