When Apple rolled out the Apple Watch, one of the features it touted was the ability to send your heartbeat to your loved ones. The thinking was that there is a certain intimacy in sharing the unique rythm of blood pumping through your body.

But now marketing agency T3 plans to use that feature for quite a different purpose: Tinder.

In the introduction video to "Hands Free" Tinder, T3 explains that usually when people are choosing matches on Tinder, they're using their head. You might argue that that's debatable, but regardless, T3 wants you to use another organ - your heart.

Here's how it works. The app will monitor if you heart rate goes up or down, and use that to choose whether or not you match with someone.

Ostensibly the app is for people who don't rationally understand what they want, and need to get a bit out of their head. That seems reasonable, but whether heartrate is an effective way to accomplish T3's goal remains to be seen.

Practically, this app seems clunky for everyday Tinder. What if you like one photo more than another? But as a small experiment in seeing who unexpectedly quickens your pulse, it might be compelling. Just hope you don't come across your ex.
