Tiger Woods is back!

After a nine-month layoff from professional golf, Woods announced on Monday that he will compete in the Hero World Challenge from November 30 - December 3.

Woods hosts the tournament, which will be played in Albany, Bahamas.

Wood said in a statement:

"I am excited to return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge. Albany is the perfect setting and it will be great to join this outstanding field. I want to thank Pawan Munjal and Hero MotoCorp for their continued support of this tournament and my foundation. I would also like to thank the fans for their unwavering support during my injury."

There were rumors that Woods would return for the Hero World Challenge after he left one spot open in the field.

Woods last played at Dubai Desert Classic in February from which he withdrew after one round. He underwent back surgery in April, his fourth in four years, and was sidelined for six months.

Woods was arrested for driving under the influence in May, for which he pled guilty, blaming the incident on an unexpected reaction to prescription drugs.
