In a major disappointment for Indian education system, no Indian institution has made it to the top 100 in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, and that too for the fifth continuous year.

The last that an Indian institution figured in this list was when Indian Institute of Science was ranked in the 91-100 band in 2011, which was the year of these rankings that are compiled by the London-based Times Higher Education weekly magazine.

For the sixth straight year, Harvard University has grabbed the top spot, while the United States has once again dominated the rankings, boasting of 43 institutions amongst the top 100.

US is loosely followed by the UK, which houses 10 universities that made it to the list, along with the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford taking the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
