It’s shocking that it’s happening everyday. As we progress to a better economy, harassment on women seem to be increasing in many folds. There is hardly a day, where no woman is harmed. While molestation and sexual abuse were more specific to empty roads and lonely cabs, a recent incident on a Jet Airways flight shows that women aren’t safe on sky as well.

TV actress Tinaa Dattaa, who is better known for the role of protagonist on Color’s ‘Uttaran’ had a horrific experience on board Jet Airways 9W 7001to Rajkot from Mumbai. As revealed on her Facebook post, she was sitting on a window seat with her manager on aisle. A middle aged man sitting behind named Rajesh, started touching her inappropriately. Initially Tinaa thought it was a kid trying to play with her. The moment she looked behind, it was traumatic.

But then began the real trauma. As she complained to the cabin crew, they found this complaint to be as silly as some regular thing. When she kept insisting on meeting the captain of the flight, the cabin crew just offered to change the seat of the man. Instead of calling for security, the unapologetic crew finally let Captain Jagjeevan Singh meet Tinaa. According to the Facebook post of the actress, Mr Singh wasn’t much friendly either. He stayed indifferent to the whole incident and said that it’s not his duty because the flight hasn’t taken off yet.

A traumatized Tinaa wrote,” I felt so Violated and yet no one was there to support except one family in the entire aircraft, we as Indians do not care for the safety of our fellow beings, the entire flight did not stand up for this except that family. Is there no safety measures for your passengers?? Is this how you are treated and I get to hear all sorts of excuses how the matter is not on their (captain) jurisdiction and nothing can be done and apparently this is very common in flights (according to the air hostess). Finally after much arguments I had no say as no one came forth for my help. " (SIC)

She also added that no action has been taken by Jet Airways yet.
