P.Chidambaram and his interim budget have been the talk of the town since the past few days. He has announced a reduction in excise duties of vehicles including hatchbacks, sedans and SUV’s. As a result multinational car companies present in India have started reducing prices of their respective 4-wheelers.
Volkswagen India announced today that after the statement of the interim budget and cut in excise tax, they too have reduced prices of their line-up of cars. Prices for the Volkswagen Polo have been reduced by Rs 18,000-Rs 31,000, while Vento’s prices have been reduced by Rs 14,500-Rs 27,000. Jetta prices have been reduced by Rs 38,000-Rs 51,000.
“We welcome the Government’s decision to reduceexcise duty on cars and we at Volkswagen have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers. We hope this move will help improve the market sentiment in the automotive industry,” said Mr. Arvind Saxena , Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
This price cut by Volkswagen India is one of the first to come in the line-up of price reduction across car makers. This seems like a good opportunity for consumers to purchase their dream cars. Volkswagen has also announced that all reductions have been carried out and the new prices are live from today.
