Want to buy the new Apple iPhone? Pick one from the India’s grey market for Rs 1 lakh If you are thinking that the serpentine queues outside Apple Inc stores in over a dozen countries will define the craze for the newly launched iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, then think again! “Diehard iPhone devotees in India will be able to lay hands on the latest models in the grey market within two days of the US launch on September 25 by shelling out Rs 1 lakh,” said a person aware of these developments.

It’s worth noting that the grey markets will be able to reap the benefit only for a limited period. Wondering why we said this? Well, owing to India's growing importance as an iPhone market, Apple is expected to officially start selling the new devices by October 11-15 in India.

Grey market vendors in Mumbai's Heera Panna and Crawford markets, Delhi's Gaffar market, and Kolkata's Air-Conditioned and Fancy markets have even started taking pre-orders for Apple iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus, the business daily revealed. They revealed that their agents in the US will pre-order the device on September 12 (Saturday) and ship the phones to India within a couple of days of the September 25 launch.

Apart from the US, grey market vendors will also start receiving supplies from Singapore, Hong Kong and similar markets, which are nearer to India and where the new iPhones will be launched in the first phase.
