Watch a US-led airstrike wipe out an ISIS fighting position near its last stronghold in Iraq
As Iraqi forces and their partners have continued their ground assault on Mosul, the northern Iraqi city that is ISIS' biggest remaining stronghold in the country, a coalition led by the US has supported the military operation from the air.
In an October 22 strike, coalition aircraft wiped out an ISIS fighting position near the city. You can see a clip of the strike below.
Strikes around Mosul on October 22 targeted ISIS units, weapons systems, vehicles, buildings, bunkers, tunnels, and vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices.
The Iraqi army and police forces, along with Kurdish Peshmerga and Shiite militias, have been advancing toward Mosul on multiple fronts since the operation to recapture the city began on October 16, over two years after the terrorist group took it in summer 2014.
Iraq's elite Counter-Terrorism Service has drawn close to Mosul from the east, and is poised to begin fighting to retake the city, its commander said.
"Now is the beginning of the true liberation of the city of Mosul," Staff General Taleb Sheghati al-Kenani told Iraqiya state television. "Our final goal is arriving at Mosul and liberating the city," Kenani said from Gogjali, a village on the edge of the city.

CTS members reportedly retook the state-television building in eastern Mosul on Tuesday, and some of the roughly million residents still in the city told Reuters fighting had taken to the city's streets.
"We can see Daesh (Islamic State) fighters firing towards the Iraqi forces and moving in cars between the alleys of the neighborhood. It's street fighting," said one person who lives on Mosul's eastern approaches.
More than 10,000 people have already been displaced from Mosul, and aid groups expect many more to flee as the fighting intensifies inside the city. Tens of thousands other residents, women and children among them, have reportedly been snatched by ISIS fighters for use as human shields.
