Katherine Jenkins gave a surprise performance to passengers on board a British Airways flight to Moscow.

Katherine Jenkins and the Bolshoi Ballet performed for First Class British Airways passengers on their way to Moscow this week.

Jenkins surprised the passengers on board by singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow" on a flight leaving Heathrow Airport on Tuesday November 1.

While she sang, two dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet made their way around the First Class flyers.

The performance marked the inaugural flight of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, as well as the launch of British Airways' direct flights from Heathrow to Moscow.

British Airways has a reputation for customer satisfaction, and was recently named the best airline in Europe for First Class service by the World Travel Awards 2016.

Jenkins and the Bolshoi Ballet Dancers' performance marked the launch of direct flights to Moscow.

The flights into Moscow will operate weekly from the beginning of November, but will increase to twice-weekly from January 3 2017.

Artemy Belyakov, the leading soloist from the Bolshoi Theatre, said that the dancers enjoyed the "creative challenge" set by British Airways to turn the passenger jet into a stage.
