And despite all the flashy gimmick sandwiches of late, nothing beats a simple beef patty topped with a melty slice of cheese and the fixings.

Choosing comparable burgers is difficult, but we decided to go with the quarter-pounder cheeseburger or its equivalent from the menus of Burger King, McDonald's, and Wendy's.
