When Ranbir Kapoor and Virat Kohli battled it out on the football field

A football match where a host of Bollywood celebrities take on the Indian cricket team- that is exactly what Celebrity Clasico 2016 was about.

And, believe it or not- the film stars were giving the cricketers a run for their money.



The football match, had the cricketers’ team All Heart led by Virat Kohli and the film stars’ team All Stars, captained by Ranbir Kapoor and took place yesterday at the Andheri Sports Complex.




Both the teams battled it out for Abhishek Bachchan’s charity Playing for Humanity and Virat’s charity, the Virat Kohli Foundation.



By the first 40 minutes itself, the All Heart Team led ably by Kohli were finding it quite difficult to breach the defence of All Stars, who were already up 2-0.

But, ultimately the match ended in a draw, with KL Rahul and Yuvraj Singh scoring it for Kohli’s team while Director Shoojit Sircar and Antonio Pecora, Ranbir Kapoor’s trainer had earlier scored for the All Stars team.




Abhishekh Bachchan had taken up the role of the coach due to an injury and wasn’t playing. At the end of the match, Bachchan said that irrespective of the draw, the noble cause and the people for whom the match took place, emerged as the real winners.




The match was held to raise awareness and funds for drought victims. We love that celebrities are stepping up and doing their bit for charity!
