World's first 4K OLED TV launched in India by LG

Consumer durable major LG today launched world’s first 4K OLED TV in India. The 65 inch model is priced at Rs 5.79 lakh, while the 55 inch screen model will cost 3.84 lakh.

“With LG 4K OLED TV, we promise consumers in India the ultimate immersive cinematic experience,” said Howard Lee, Director-Home Entertainment, LG-India said.

With Samsung as their biggest competitor in the market, LG plans to be ahead with the game with this product. Though it is high-priced, but Howard said India’s contribution to OLED is high and the demand is growing.

Talking about challenges, Gogi Kapoor, marketing head-Home Entertainment, LG India said increasing the popularity of OLED is their primary challenge as not many are aware about it.

1. This cutting edge technology 4K OLED TV features 33 million colour sub-pixels and self-lighting pixels for the most lifelike colours.

2. Its vivid four colour pixel technology adds a white sub-pixel to the conventional red, green and blue pixels. It also allows for ultimate contrast with independently lit pixels to control their own luminance.

3. It is equipped with the latest WebOS technology that let you connect your smart phones to the LG smart TV.
