Amazon Prime members now get discounts at Whole Foods - here's how to get them

  • Amazon Prime members will get 10% off sale items at Whole Foods and weekly discounts on best-selling items.
  • To get the discounts, Prime members must download the Whole Foods app and present a barcode at checkout, or provide their phone number.
  • The discounts start Wednesday at Whole Foods stores in Florida, and will roll out to stores nationwide this summer.

Amazon is giving Prime members 10% off sale items at Whole Foods and weekly discounts on best-selling items.

Prime members can get access to the discounts through the Whole Foods app or by linking their Prime accounts to a phone number.

To access the deals through the app, shoppers must first download the latest version of the app, then follow the prompts to sign in to their Prime account.

Then at checkout, shoppers will tap "prime code" in the the bottom left corner of the app. That will display a code for cashiers to scan that will verify customers' Prime membership.

Shoppers can also choose to link their Prime account to a phone number to avoid using a phone at checkout. To link your account to a phone number, sign into your Amazon account and under "Your Account," select the "Login & Security" tab, then select "Add Mobile Phone Number."

Shoppers who choose this route will be able to access Prime discounts by providing their phone number to the cashier.

The discounts start Wednesday at Whole Foods stores in Florida and will roll out nationwide this summer.
