An anti-Trump movement is doubling down on its boycott of Amazon on Prime Day
The Grab Your Wallet movement, an online boycott started in October 2016 by brand and digital strategist Shannon Coulter, is encouraging Trump critics to boycott Amazon until the ecommerce giant stops selling Trump-related products. Currently, the website sells items from both Donald and Ivanka Trump's fashion brands.
The progressive movement is also attempting to pressure Amazon to stop running ads on the far-right website Breitbart News.
Since the election, hundreds of brands have blocked their ads from running on Breitbart, which critics have accused of publishing racist and misogynistic articles like a 2015 piece by Milo Yiannopoulos headlined, "Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive and Crazy." Amazon hasn't yet pulled its ads despite advocacy groups protesting the company's shareholders meeting.
"Wish I could join in the #PrimeDay fun, but can't do business with Amazon until they stop doing business with haters," Coulter tweeted on Monday.
While Amazon has remained on the Grab Your Wallet protest list since 2016, the ecommerce giant isn't winning over any Trump loyalists either. Amazon's founder and CEO Jeff Bezos - who also owns The Washington Post - has criticized Trump, though Bezos has said that Amazon strives to be apolitical.
In February, Trump supporters threatened to boycott Amazon after news broke that it would support Washington state in a federal lawsuit challenging Trump's executive order barring people from seven majority-Muslim countries from entering the US. And, in June, Trump tweeted that the "Amazon Washington Post" is "FAKE NEWS."

I love @amazon but won't continue to use their service if they are advertising on Breitbart. I won't support hate. pic.twitter.com/ipco6UkTLd

Hi @Amazon I'm a Prime customer. What is Amazon's rationale for continuing to advertise on white supremacist site Breitbart? #PrimeDay
