Fashion has come a long way in India. It doesn’t imitate the international couture anymore like the mid 90s. It has build up a signature of its own in the global market, which is why we see Sabyasachi and Manish Malhotra becoming the favourite couturier for Hollywood celebrities.

Fashion was always very artsy. So a designer would require a pencil and paper to draw his imagination and rely solely of pen and paper research. But no more, thanks to the cloud, things have become convenient.

Recently IBM Watson, which combines artificial intelligence (AI) and sophisticated analytical software for optimal performance, has collaborated with renowned fashion designer Falguni and Shane (Falguni Shane Peacock) for an amazing tech enabled experience.

Talking to media, Shane said, “Bollywood has shaped fashion for decades but now fashion shapes Bollywood.” What the designer duo has done is synthesis, a kind of fusion of different culture and old and new ways of doing things. “This is just the beginning. We want Watson to help us augment the whole design process. It doesn’t feel like technology. Rather it’s like communicating with higher intelligence that gives you the answer you want fast.”
