Elon Musk just unveiled the SpaceX spacesuit for the first time ever
The first official photo of the SpaceX spacesuit is here.
Elon Musk posted the photo on his Instagram early Wednesday morning, noting that it's not a mock-up suit - it actually works.
"Worth noting that this actually works (not a mockup)," Musk wrote. "Already tested to double vacuum pressure. Was incredibly hard to balance esthetics and function. Easy to do either separately."
The Verge was the first to spot the photo.
Musk's SpaceX has an ambitious plan to send humans to space by 2025 inside the company's Crew Dragon spacecraft, which has been used to transport cargo to the International Space Station in 2012. SpaceX is currently in the process of modifying the Dragon to accommodate a crew.
Musk teased on Instagram that there will be more photos of the spacesuit in days to come.
