Google’s Sundar Pichai is in India and here are the details of his itinerary

Google CEO Sundar Pichai is in India on a private trip and is presently staying in Jaipur. But, he also has some business here and will be addressing a a press conference on January 4.

In the conference, Pichai is expected to entail Google’s new initiatives aimed at helping the digital operations of small and medium business enterprises. The event will also have Google India Head Rajan Anandan and India's Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and they are likely to talk about digital tools helping Indian businesses and entrepreneurs.

The invite for the event hints that it will also be attended by entrepreneurs and businessmen.

Besides, he will also be visiting IIT Kharagpur on January 5 to relive the past and inspire the future. Pichai has been a student of the prestigious college and this will be his first visit to the campus as the CEO of Google.

Exactly a year after his last visit to the country, Pichai will step into the campus for an interactive session with students titled "A journey back to the past to inspire the future”

The session will be held at the Tagore Open Air Theatre of the campus

In his earlier visit in December last year, Pichai had detailed how Google was working to bring more Indians online. He had talked about the company's partnership with RailTel, which is now powering free Wi-Fi for 100 Indian railway stations. He also talked about the bicycle project that was giving Indians in villages and towns first taste of internet.

This time around, however, the focus is going to be how Google is partnering with small and medium business enterprises to help them in their digital operations.
