As part of this, economy class passengers will have the option of choosing fares from the Deal, Saver, Classic or Flex fare categories. Likewise, premier class fares includes Saver, Classic and Flex, while in first class there will only be one fare "family First," it said.
In a move that checkmated its rivals like Jet Airways and Vistara on the pricing front, national carrier Air India had early this month announced dropping of its last minute fares to the level of AC II tier fares of Rajdhani trains on four trunk destinations from DelhiKolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, to begin with. Later it extended the offer on seven other routes, giving jitters to the private airlines, which jack up their last minute fares to astronomical sums. Gaurang Shetty, Wholetime Director, Jet Airways, said: "The new fare structure being introduced by Jet Airways will offer distinct features in each category as well as greater choice to our guests.
Ultimately, this is about providing choice." The new flexible 'Fare Choices' will be available on all domestic and international routes through all of Jet Airways' booking channels. Jet airways said in a release, the various fare categories are differentiated based on the changeability and refund of a ticket, mileage accrual, upgrade eligibility, priority checkin and lounge access. The baggage allowance for the bookings availed under these fare choices is differentiated according to routes based on piece and weight and the same will reflect on the eticket.
