New Mercedes Benz E-Class launched for Rs 57.14 lakh

Mercedes Benz, the luxury car maker from Germany has rolled out an all new E-Class 220d sedan in the Indian marker, with a price tag of Rs 57.14 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).

Other than the luxury vehicle, it has also launched a new four-cylinder diesel engine, OM 654, which has been assembled at the Mercedes-Benz Chakan facility in Pune.

After the success of previous variants, the E350d diesel and the E 200 petrol, the new E 220d has been launched keeping in mind the 'unprecedented' demand of the long wheelbase E-Class, said a company statement.

"With the launch of the much-awaited E 220 d, we are now extending the E-Class product portfolio even further and making it highly versatile," Mercedes-Benz India managing director and CEO Roland Folger said.
