Even though Alto has consistently grabbed the position of best-selling entry-level passenger vehicle in India, this number has once again placed it at the top of the list.

Alto, which made its debut in India in September 2000, registered over 1 lakh in cumulative sales in its first three years and has been country’s largest-selling passenger vehicle for several years continuously.

Not only in India, the car is popular in other countries as well, given that last year, 21,000 units were exported to countries like Sri Lanka, Chile, Philippines, and Uruguay.

Off recently, it has been facing stiff competition from Renault Kwid and Hyundai Grand i10, but none of the competitor has been able to grab the top position.
