Rupee hits record low against US dollar

The rupee has hit record hit at 68.855 against dollar. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is intervening in the foreign exchange market.
In the morning, rupee neared record low and was trading at 68.8350 per dollar, and now has surpassed its previous record low of 68.85 in August 2013.
The rupee has fallen this month by a rally in the dollar and outflows from emerging markets, as well as worries about the country'sdemonetisation drive.
