Indian cricket players dominate the celebrity endorsement market, receiving 85% of the total endorsement value, which reached INR 749 crore in 2022, a 20% increase from the previous year. 30 brands were signed by Virat Kohli, considered the leading sports personality in that arena, followed by MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. Football, kabaddi, hockey and other disciplines account for the remaining INR 109 crore in endorsements, with Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra being the most popular among athletes from those sports. Women cricketers, especially those who have excelled internationally in recent years, increasingly attract endorsement deals.
