Hurdles in maintaining law and order has increased incessantly with rise in drug trafficking, human trafficking, road accidents, thefts and smuggling, etc. The Indian Police Service (IPS) officers are primarily entrusted with the job of doing away with these, which at times seems impossible given the vast area of their jurisdiction. As majority of these sectors in India are government owned, one will have almost all managerial powers, handsome payment, perks and post-retirement benefits enjoyed by other government officials of the country.
