66th National Film Awards 2018 announced: Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal win "Best Actor" Award

  • The winners of the 66th National Film Awards were announced today.
  • The award ceremony was supposed to be held in April but was delayed due to the Indian general elections.
  • The National Film Awards are the most prestigious awards for the Indian film fraternity.

The National Film Awards which is India’s most prominent awards ceremony celebrating the best in Indian cinema was announced today. This is the 66th National Film Awards.

The award ceremony was scheduled for April but the Information and Broadcasting Ministry had announced that the awards would be announced after the Lok Sabha Elections.

The awards will be given in 31 film categories while non-feature films will be announced in 23 categories.

Here’s the list of winners from the National Film Awards

Best Actor(male): Ayushmann Khurrana (Andhadhun) and Vicky Kaushal(Uri: The Surgical Strike)
Best Actor (female): Keerthy Suresh, Mahanati
Best Direction: Aditya Dhar for Uri: The Surgical Strike
Best Playback Singer(female): Bindu Malini for Nithicharami
Best feature film: Hellaro (Gujarati)
Most film Friendly State: Uttarakhand
Best Rajasthani Film: Turtle
In the Feature Film category , four actors got Special Mention

Sruthi Hariharan for Nathicharami
Chandrachoor Rai for Kadak
Joju George for Joseph (Malayalam film)
Savithri for Sudani from Nigeria

Best Choreography: Padmaavat
Best Arts and Culture Film: Bunkar: The Last of The Varanasi Weavers
Best Science & Technology Film (Non-Feature Category): G.D Naidu: The Edison of India
Best Non-Feature Film: Son Rise and The Secret Life of Frog
Best Music Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali (Padmaavat)
Best Background Music: Uri - The Surgical Strike (Sashwat Sachdev)

Best Marathi feature film: Bhonga directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil.
Best Garo feature film: Ma’ama directed by Dominic Sangma.
Best Special Effects: shared by Awe and KGF

Best costume designer award goes to Telugu film Mahanati
Best Environment Film: The World's Most Famous Tiger. The film is directed by Subbiah Nallamuthu.
Best Cinematography: MJ Radhakrishnan for Malayalam movie Olu

Best Male Playback Singer: Arijit Singh for Binte Dil (Padmaavat)
Best Tamil Film: Baaram
Best Sherdukpan Film: Mishing
Best Supporting Actor (female): Surekha Sikri for the movie "Badhaai Ho"
