Apple's next iPhone, which is rumored to be called the iPhone 7, may be released on Sept. 25, according to blog Mobile News, which claims to have received an internal staff email from British carrier Vodafone.

In the email, the carrier outlined pre-launch plans to staff, including that the phone will go on sale starting Sept. 25 with preorders starting on Sept. 18.

The phone was simply referred to as the "new iPhone" in the email, and no additional information about the device was revealed. Many speculate the phone will be called the iPhone 6s or iPhone 7.

This falls in line with when Apple usually reveals its new iPhone. Last year, the iPhone 6 officially launched on Sept. 19 with preorders launching on Sept. 12.

It's unclear how legitimate Mobile News' report is, however. And, since the purported launch is still months away, there's a chance those details could change.

Early rumors about the phone indicate it could be called the iPhone 6s or iPhone 7. It'll likely come with the Force Touch screen Apple first debuted on the Apple Watch, and it could come in multiple sizes.
