Shakhtar Donetsk secured an unlikely victory over Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
Shakhtar boss Paulo Fonseca masterminded the 2-1 win, navigating his club into the Champions League knockout stages, and then had to dress up as black-clad vigilante Zorro for the post-match press conference.
Fonseca said his outfit of choice was because of a promise he had made.
The 44-year-old coach said he would don Zorro's costume - complete with mask, Spanish cape, and flat-brimmed black sombrero hat - if Shakhtar progressed past the Champions League group stage and into the Round of 16.
That narrow win over City guaranteed Shakthar's role in the next round of the competition.
"This is the most joyful press conference of my career," Fonseca, who won three trophies in Ukrainian football last season, said. "I feel great joy."
He added: "I think not only Shakhtar's supporters but all Ukrainians have to be proud of our team."
