Amazon India has left homegrown e-tailer Flipkart far behind when it comes to overall website traffic, including both PCs and mobile. The above can be said basis data gathered by Kotak Institutional Equities from web traffic analytics company SimilarWeb.

Even though the report did not have separate numbers for mobile web and PC traffic for Amazon and Flipkart, the data from Nov ’15 to May ’16, showed that the Seattle-headquartered company generated between 33% and 62% more monthly traffic than the Indian rival.

As per the data, Amazon had an average monthly user visit of around 180 million, which is way far ahead of Flipkart's number that stands at 120 million.

Even though Flipkart can boast of a huge lead in mobile app downloads and usage, Amazon seems to be doing some quick catching up.
