Amtek Group, which acquired Barista Coffee almost a year back, is now looking for potential buyers for the Italian coffee chain.
The auto component maker, Amtek, which is the fourth owner of Barista, has roped in Grant Thornton for the same.
Reportedly, Amtek Auto might liquidate about one-third in Carnation Hospitality as Arvind Dham had recently informed about the decision to offload non-core assets and exit non-auto businesses.
Amtek Group is debt laden and defaulted on repayment of Rs 800 crore.
It is not that Barista Coffee is making profits as 170-plus stores are loss making. However, in terms of stores, Barista outnumbers Cafe Coffee Day.
