Nobody likes reading lists of rules.

So to help convince its army of software developers to actually read its newly rewritten App Store guidelines, Apple commissioned an official comic book from Madefire, which it give away during its annual developers conference.

Don't expect a "Watchmen" style-plot or Alan Moore-caliber writing from "App Review Guidelines: The Comic Book." The text appears to be a verbatim copy of the actual guidelines - which are, again, very dry rules - over some pretty cool imagery.

The coolest part of the comic book is that each section of the app review guidelines gets its own visual style, done by a separate illustrator.

"Each section is a visual story, and we really wanted the visuals to react with the serious content of the guidelines," Madefire co-founder Ben Wolstenholme said at the comic book's announcement.
