Asian PC Market Declined For The Eighth Consecutive Quarter,
Says IDCWhile many PC manufacturers in India seemed upbeat about 2014, the latest report says otherwise. IDC has released a report today, which states that the Asia and Pacific PC market has seen a decline for the eighth quarter running. The pc market declined 8% subsequently and 11% year on year in Q1, 2014. This is not good news for the PC manufacturers and allied industry, which is quite big in India.

The report also says that In India, an ongoing large education project was postponed due to the upcoming elections, shaving off about half a million units from the commercial PC segment. In Thailand, political unrest continued to have an adverse impact, while in Indonesia, government funds were diverted in the run-up to the elections, resulting in lower commercial spending in PCs.

“However, as these markets stabilize after the elections, IDC expects commercial activity to resume in the second half as a result of pent-up demand," says Handoko Andi, Research Manager for Client Devices at IDC Asia/Pacific.
