At Least 9 Dead In Fiery Crash After Bus Full Of College Hopefuls Collides With FedEx Truck In California

The students were going to take a tour of the campus.
Reuters reports a FedEx truck "lost control, crossed a divider on Interstate 5, side-swiped a car and then smashed head-on into the tour bus around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday," according to California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Tracy Hoover.
Around 50 people were onboard the bus. 5 students, 2 chaperones, and the drivers of both vehicles were killed.

The crash took place near the community of Orland, 95 miles north of Sacramento. The students were traveling from the Los Angeles area.
The surviving student and chaperones are "traumatized, absolutely. Most of them have scratches, cuts, burns, contusions and lacerations - a magnitude of injuries," Hoover said.
