Tata had the world premiere of the Nexon sub-4m SUV at the Auto Expo 2016 today. Tata’s first ever attempt at the compact SUV segment is built on the same Tata X1 platform that supports the Bolt and Zest.

Under the hood it’s got the 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced MultiJet diesel engine with options for manual and automated manual transmissions. The petrol variant packs in the turbo-charged all-new aluminum 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron engine that was first seen in the new Zica hatchback.

Inside, the interiors look like that of the Tata Zest, and are fitted with a multifunction steering wheel, and rotary dials for the HVAC system. Top-end variants come fitted with the Harman touch-screen infotainment system and automatic climate control.
