Amid soaring temperatures, Mumbai is all set for an “Underwater Festival” from May, where they can either go scuba diving or play water hockey among a host of other activities. One can also go slacklining, while others can participate in a diver’s obstacle course (for certified divers only).

It will give Mumbaikars, both swimmers and non-swimmers, a reason to escape the torture of the summer heat.

The festival was held in Pune last year. It is once again being organised by Finkick Adventures, a Scuba diving centre. The festival aims to create awareness on marine conservation. There will be talks by various photographers, videographers, marine biologists and conservationists from around the world

The organisers are also hoping to help people in planning their next vacation with adventure enthusiasts.

What's more beautiful is that there will also be specific focus on making diving a more inclusive activity, even for people with movement disabilities who are scared of scuba-diving. The organizers will showcase their work with persons with disability, including blind, single amputee, paraplegic and quadriplegic individuals to showcase the need for accessibility in India, especially with regard to sport facilities.
